Friday, April 28th 1972. Footage of President Felix Houphouet-Boigny of Ivory Coast speaking in French about the legacy of the recently deceased Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the issue of dialogue with the Apartheid regime of South Africa. He said Dr. Nkrumah served Africa, not just Ghana, and history would recall all the good he did -above all that he led his country to independence. On the subject of dialogue with South Africa -the policy President Houphouet-Boigny long advocated- he said the way to peace was through neutrality. He was speaking in Abidjan after returning from a conference in Lome, Togo. Source: Reuters News Archive.
