Before Ivory Coast gave us talented musicians such as Alpha Blondy, Meiway or Tiken Jah Fakoly, it gave us Ernesto Djedje. My mother introduced me to his music when I was 5, growing up in Yaounde, Cameroon; a unique sound called Ziglibithy. This song is from Djedje's 1977 album "Le Roi Du Ziglibithy" (The King of Ziglibithy). I've always thought that what should define Africa was neither the horrible images of poverty and starvation nor the surreal beauty of its touristic sites...but rather a blend it all...and those amazing colors...
